Partners catch their partners using Facebook to cheat Facebook is cited as a cause of divorce in one in five marriages, according to an online legal service. The world’s biggest social network is mentioned in 20 per cent of divorce petitions according Divorce-Online, a law firm that specialises in divorce cases. It seems as though the ease of contact between individuals over social networking sites like Facebook and Bebo has tempted people to cheat on their partners. Whether or not Facebook is actually to blame for the divorces is difficult to tell, but it’s likely that this is just a new tech-way for people to cheat on their spouses. Earlier this year, one wife split from her husband after she discovered that he was having an affair with a virtual escort in the game Second Life. She had originally met her husband in the online world before marrying him.
